Preface
The first version of this work was published prior to the elections of 2015, and
the once-abundant inventory of copies has run dry (3,000 copies were distributed
to the country’s decision makers, and another 2,000 entries to the Chaikin Chair
for Geo-strategy’s website). This is the second version; it contains small changes
dictated by the passing of time.
My thanks to Ofra Peri, who edited the text, to Marshall Grant for the translation
from Hebrew and to Noga Yosellivitz who prepared it for print, including the
sketches. I also owe thanks to the many people who have responded, who are
responsible for quite a few changes and the decision to print the current version,
which is intended to reach every Zionist home in Israel and in the Diaspora.
